Along the Baylight Trail
Along the Baylight trail encounter great food and drink offers, fairground rides and lots of playful interventions on familiar features and buildings. Look up to the sky and down on the ground for cool lighting transformations including at the Sailing Club, Midland Hotel, Lighthouse and the RNLI building. Don’t forget to bring your camera for a selfie at the Mountainscape UV experience!

Baylight Magical Parade
Join us at 6pm on Saturday for our popular heritage parade featuring magical fish lanterns, jellyfish dancers, and a lively flotilla. Enjoy performances by local groups like Baybeat and Samba Espirito as the parade winds along Marine Road Central. Attend our FREE workshops to create your own handheld illuminated sea creatures and take part go here.

Reel Cinema
The Reel Cinema radiates with Space Flower lights and a red-carpet welcome, showcasing vintage cine footage of Morecambe’s history, courtesy of Morecambe Town Council. Playing on a loop both evenings, these screenings offer a nostalgic view of the town’s past.

Sky Tracer & Colour Flow
A returning favourite from 2024, LED batons are programmed to create a colourful effect that run up and along the building, creating an impactful set of flowing effects, two striking beam lights project a bold searchlight and flower effect into the Morecambe sky.
03 Artist – Luminism Light Art Pioneers
Pipe Dream
An impressive NEW installation debuting at Baylight ‘25, standing 6m high with a 4m footprint this is a colourful and spectacular piece. Perfect for increasing dwell-time, Pipe Dream will create a captivating centre piece for this stop point along the route.
04 Local Artists – Luminate
The Garden of Hope
Enjoy a radiant showcase of positivity in “The Garden of Hope,” presented by Luminate in collaboration with local LGBTQIA+ community group Out In The Bay. This inspiring exhibit features a stunning display of uplifting words, celebrating love, togetherness and acceptance.

Yesterlight
A welcome return of this 2023 favourite as we celebrate Morecambe’s historic illuminations past and present, through a mix of classic bright and colourful festoons and historic information message boards. Come and see what used to be … before Baylight arrived!

Reflections of Morecambe
Experience this captivating light art installation celebrating the Winter Gardens’ rich history. At its centre, a stunning mirrorball sits on the balcony, symbolising the venue’s legacy. Powerful light beams transform the facade into a dazzling display, evoking over a century of joyous celebrations.
07 Local Artist – Mortlock Arts
Biolluminate
An immersive hydroponic light installation with five carbon-capturing living systems, interactive light, and sound-reactive technologies. Dynamic projections and soundscapes inspired by community workshops weave a narrative that encourages engagement with sustainability and fosters climate hope for the future.

Ghost of Moby Dick
Experience the return of Morecambe’s legendary Moby Dick at Baylight ’25! This stunning, large-scale illuminated display brings the beloved galleon back to life, appearing to float elegantly on the bay’s waters. A cherished part of Morecambe’s history, its revival enriches the town’s marine landscape, captivating visitors with its breathtaking spectacle. Marvel at this dazzling tribute and celebrate the magic of this iconic ship once more, as it lights up the waterfront in a truly unforgettable way.

Rainbow Flow
Vibrant coloured batons line one side of the path, radiating rainbow light in a dazzling wave-like motion. The dynamic pulses mirror the bay’s natural rhythm, guiding visitors along a vibrant, immersive journey that celebrates the flowing beauty and energy of light and water.

Not just Bathbombs
Discover the enchantment of UV face painting by Laura Taylor Winn. See your face come alive under radiant UV lights as Laura crafts dazzling designs, bringing an illuminated, artistic flair to the unforgettable atmosphere of this spectacular light event.

Giant Gobo Projections
Spectacular designs created by wonderfully talented local school children adorn the hotel fascia alongside projected logos of our marvelous sponsors.
13 Artist – Luminism Light Art Pioneers
Light Play
Our giant interactive towers are a great family-friendly feature. This bank of six visitor-controlled bubble tubes is a fun interactive addition to the trail. Each tube is individually controlled with a light up panel creating an endless spectrum of colour combinations.

Astro Play
Step into the fun with Baylight 25’s Stepping Stones! Each step lights up vibrant colours and triggers hypnoticm sounds, creating a playful and immersive experience. Fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, this interactive installation invites everyone to join the excitement.
15 Local Artist – Sound Intervention
Luminosi Trees
Experience this stunning large-scale light and sound installation with three six-metre-high structures. Resembling psychedelic jellyfish or art-deco parasols, thousands of lights respond to a Fibonacci-inspired soundtrack, creating a tranquil, immersive display of colours and movement.

Aeolian Flutes
Illuminated instruments producing atmospheric sounds as wind flows through. Their gentle tones harmonise with nature, creating a captivating sensory experience blending light, sound, and natural movement.
17 Local Artist – Sound Intervention
Glittering Grove
Step into our 100-metre immersive light and sound experience. Six suspended half-mirrorballs cast moving light patterns, transforming the surroundings into a magical wonderland. Dance along the prom and play among the stars in this spellbinding installation.
18 Artist – Luminism Light Art Pioneers
Kinetic Light
A giant dynamic brand-new light sculpture which will move and twist in a smooth motion, creating the effect of constant evolution. The individual “blades” of the form will be illuminated in standout colours, set against the surroundings. This kinetic sculpture will be the ideal centrepiece for visitors.
